Hello Mrs. Tuite,
I have a few hours off this afternoon. I go on detail at six tonight. Thought I’d let you know all is well and moving along as well as can be expected under the circumstance.
Needless to note that I miss home and all it meant. Possibly this is the wisest move I have ever made. I’m sure I will have a deeper sense of value and standards when I return.
Mom wrote that Bun had been
confirmed, suffering from Malaria fever. I certainly was disturbed to hear it.
Bun I’m sure will weather it. At the rut Bun and his gang are traveling in the
Pacific Tokyo they may be invading
I feel fine rugged and healthy as a pavement brick. The hours are regular and I feel fine as a result. Certainly make a good husband for Viola, I hope. Make my own bunk wash my own clothes and help scrub the barracks. I’ll learn a number of things that will he value and benefit in later life.
I should leave here soon as if you intend to write I’d advise you not to. Not till you hear from me in my basic training camp.
Love,
Frank
