9:30 am

Dearest Mary Ellen,

Well darling I let you down again last night but I am going to write two letters today. I got paid yesterday dear so you will have a $30 money order in this letter. I know you can use it and I’ll be getting paid again in about 20 days so you should have another $30 coming again soon.

I got my watch yesterday dear but they didn’t put a yellow crystal in it because it would have taken about two or three weeks and he didn’t think I would want to wait. It is a clear crystal dear and looks nice. I also bought a new band for my watch. It is tan and is a Hamilton band, just like the band that came with the watch. The crystal cost me $1.50 and the band was a $1.50 band but he only charged me $1 because it was the only one he had that I liked and I have previously told him that I only wanted to spend a dollar for one. It is a large jewelry store right in the heart of town. His name is Stanton. We will look there when you come down darling. There are so many dress shops here and stuff that I know you will like it here. You won’t be able to do much buying on my salary though.

It sure seemed good to sleep last night. We went to bed at about the time we usually get up for school. I think I have caught up on my sleep by now because I feel better and I am able to stay awake in school. I have to get my laundry today and also take my dirty clothes in. Some of us got a notice to report for some more pay, but they must have made a mistake because I was paid yesterday. If they want to give me more I won’t reject though. The more money I can get will be sent to you darling.

I got three letters from you yesterday and a letter from Beulah so I will have three letters to answer in my other letter today.

Well dearest, this is a short abrupt letter but the one this afternoon will be a dandy. This letter will have a $30 check in it though so that should make it acceptable.

Bye for now my darling, I’ll be writing you again today.

All my love sweetheart,

Glenn

P.S. I also bought air mail envelopes darling. They look classic don’t they you little darling.
