Dear Uncle and Aunt,
I’ve finally got around to the answer to your letter. We have been so busy since I came back from home that it’s been almost impossible to do anything but play war. It sure looks like now we are soon going to be doing the real thing instead of just pretending. I’m beginning to feel ready for almost anything that may come along.
I think I will be getting home again soon. Here’s hoping anyway.
I bought me a radio the other night so I’m sticking pretty close. The price of a radio don’t just make a soldier pinch. It breaks him. Can’t even buy a newspaper tonight. I’m ready for some sleep. We had a mild party Saturday night. We had no more than got in bed when we had to go put out a forest fire.
I guess Geney is getting much better by now. Just to look at him you could never tell anything was the matter. He’s thinking of nothing but Santa. Tell both of them I saw the old whiskers the other night. I’m sending them a picture of his airplane.
I must stop for awhile so I will finish as soon as I have a chance.
Well I’ve had my shave and shower so here I am back to finish up this gossip.
I bet the rabbit is on the table about every day. I had one for company on guard last night. The thing hopped around me all night.
The same thing happens over and over every day so there’s nothing to talk about. Here’s hoping to see you soon. Please write. That’s all there is to look forward to.
Sincerely,
Glenn
