Dear Sister:
It is a
beautiful day here warm and the sun’s shining brightly. They are flying plenty. I just heard there was a crash and 5 were
killed. One of the guys lived upstairs
and his wife is carrying on terrible. On
top of that all cadet wives are coming in to see her. It must be pretty bad. There will be hell up out there for
sure. I don’t know what happened but
they must have really piled up badly.
Yesterday
we started to pull one of those engines apart that has been our main
headache. So far we have found nothing
that could be doing it. But the Capitol
of it all, the Wright Company, lowered its altitude to 3500 ft, so how the hell
could we get full power when the height of the field is 4,275 ft? Some place some body is full of shit and I
don’t mean maybe.
I have a
couple of letters to answer and I’ll do it now.
Yours is first Irma. I don’t care
what kind of film you get Irma. Sure
Irma if you can get about a half a dozen it never hurts to have a few extras on
hand. I don’t mind using black market
film, what the hell. It burns me up at
the P.X. The officers and cadets get
first crack at them and if there is any left then we get one. I never did get one of my size. I guess it is just as good as the others
however I can’t say until I see some of the pictures from it.
Your
boardwalk is a headache, if you ask me.
For one thing all they sell are rotten and should be taken out. It wouldn’t surprise me if Dr. Mayer got his
$3000 for his house. Now is the time to
sell if you want to get rid of any of your property. I myself ain’t selling but if you could get
your price out of 226 and 228 I’d take it and get rid of a darn big headache.
Yours is
next K. This is a very short one. Thanks for Pete Banner’s address. If I only would have had it when I went to
It’s nice
Sonny Willing is still in the states.
Boy the kids surely try every thing don’t they? We are both well and hope you are all the
same.
So
long
Love
John
