Dear Mom:

Don’t be alarmed if you don’t hear from me very often for the next few weeks, there is so very much to learn and so little time to do it. We will be doing night flying and instrument flying and a million more things.

We have a swell field here and some fine planes, they are getting to be real ships now. It won’t be long before I can fly anything in the book.

There is gobs of sunshine here and I am soaking up a good tan. The food is swell and we get all the milk, butter, ice cream and such that we can eat.

I will try to write often, but don’t be worried if you don’t hear often please don’t worry.

I’ll write a more detailed letter, it is nearly time for lights to go out.
