Dear Mom and Pop:

Bob wrote me that he would be here soon.  I expect him tomorrow, some of the boys in C Class have already started coming in.  Yes, he will get to see me graduate, he’ll march in the graduation parade.

Norman wrote me that he will be in Atlanta, the same time that I will, he said he would graduate the same time I do.

No Mom, I did not send any gifts Xmas.  I was in quarantine up until just before Christmas and I didn’t get a chance to get anything.  I’ll make up for it when I get home and can get something for Frances.

Yes, I got a card from Virginia Ewing Xmas.

I thought John would be dissatisfied with his choice.  I am afraid he will lead a pretty drab existence for the duration.  He may have a safe job with fair pay, but I had rather put out a little effort and take a few risks and really have something to be proud of.  Mom, it is honestly amazing- the things I have learned since I have been in the air corps.  I have received a good education since I have been gone.  It’s really swell.

I wrote to Corley but I have not heard from him yet.  I suppose he is still in the states.

Mom, we are supposed to be issued one of those aviator bags when we graduate.  They are swell and they have a place to hang your clothes and then they fold up.

Don’t worry about Ben when he goes to Boss, he’ll be o.k.  But Mom, you had better tell him the real facts of life in a decent way ‘cause I learned them in a pretty distorted sort of fashion.  Know that now mom, he’ll be better off, believe me.

Gotta run now, we are on a new schedule and I don’t have much time.  We get up at 4:15 and go to bed at 8:15 P.M.

Lots a Love

Roy
