Dear Mom:
Haven’t written because it doesn’t seem like anytime since I was
home with you all. Nothing has happened since I got back that was worth
raving about, so I have only been flying and sleeping most of the time.
I had a
very pleasant trip home. I missed my train in Memphis
and had to take a later one that went way out thru Little Rock, but I didn’t mind because I had
plenty of time. I left Memphis about 10:30 A.M.
and rode all day in the club car and arrived in Kentucky about midnight. I strolled up to
the ticket office and asked if there was any space. Guess what? I got a lower
all the way and on an all Pullman train with
two club cars on it. I got to Albuquerque
about noon Friday. Had a fine time all the way and arrived safe and sound and
feeling fine.
Met some
fine people on the train and a Captain who is a doctor in a hospital, and he
said if I ever came to Memphis
on a cross country to come to his house and stay as long as I liked. I am going
to take him up on it too.
Came up to St. Louis
this week with a guy in my squadron who came to visit his father. I just
came along for the ride.
Better
close I guess, I can’t stand much more of this hotel pen.
Tell Aunt
Cora her money will be sent as soon as you send me her address again. I don’t
know whether I should send it to the office or not.
Love to all,
Roy
