Dear Folks:

The cookies arrived, somewhat battered, but good nonetheless. We enjoyed them very much and thanks a lot Mom. I say we, because Wiggans and I are in the same room with John Weber, you remember me speaking of him. We have a wonderful time together just being silly and going around together. John’s wife is not here so we all three go everywhere together.

Have been going to ground school  for seven hours a day since I got here and they have really poured it too us. There are about 3 million things to learn about this plane. Hope I can get to Atlanta with one and show you three it. It amazes you the first time you see it, but each time you become more familiar and less bewildered. No matter how good you get, its still a lot of responsibility to fly one.

I still don’t want to fly them but now that I am in them I am going to learn all I possibly can about them so I will never be the cause of losing a ship. You can’t know too much about these planes, because there is simply so much to know.

The flood here is still very good, and I think I have put on some weight even in the short time I have been here. That part I like very much.

Been into Phoenix once and it is ok but nothing to brag about. Little bigger than Albuquerque, which isn’t saying much at all. I am really seeing the West completely. Wish they would send me to Fla. Or someplace, just for a change.

We will be here 10 weeks and where we will go then, I don’t know and don’t particularly care. They won’t consider that anyway.

Love to you all,

Roy
