Darling,

Been up since 5:30, taking a shower, shaving, etc.  That is the best way I know of to wake up.  That shower in particular is wonderful.  Perhaps I’ll even be able to carry that habit over to civilian life if I ever get to be a civilian again.  Then again maybe you’ll change my mind as that early morning interlude with you beside me sure was sweet.

Haven’t had a letter from you or anyone else for 6 days now.  Believe me that is bad!  In my position, I really am in dire need of mail particularly from you.  The position I’ll have to wait to tell you about whenever we are together but perhaps you can guess as you know how things are.  Jealousy is a rotten thing indeed!

Picked up my watch yesterday + the only thing improved on it is the chromium plated case.  He did a punk job of fixing it so it would run.  Before it would rum occasionally, now it won’t run at all.  I told the son of a gun yesterday what I thought of his work + today I intend to ram it down his throat if he doesn’t fix it right.  Remember how timid I used to be when buying anything?  That is emphatically a thing of the past!  Of course you couldn’t treat American merchants + tradesmen the way you do these but still I’m all through taking any junk from any of them, white or black.  I roundly cursed an Indian out the other day when trying to buy a pair of shoes.  Even reminded him we were all supposed to be allies.  He wanted to for a very inferior quality pair of shoes (approx. $12).  These Indians are undoubtedly the most lying, thieving, dirty, diseased, worthless race of skunks it has ever been my extreme misfortune to encounter.  I don’t know but what I’d almost prefer a Jap to them + you know how I detest those sneaking Nips.

Found a place where you can buy some good English pastry.  They really go big for those little cakes + cookies + I really like them.  Perhaps you’ll make some for me when I get home.

Well Darling has Ethel’s boyfriend got home yet?  She really was a nice little kid.  Hope they do get married + you get your long desired opportunity to be a brides-maid.  I think you made a more beautiful bride + a sweeter one than you ever could a brides-maid.  I love you Hon.

Got to start work now so will write later.

Give my love to our family.

            All my love

Harren
