Dearest Hal,
Today we
heard that the allies invaded
This
morning I was setting out some plants I had raised. Things take several years
to bloom so I start them this year for next year’s flowers. Rain came along and
stopped me so I will have to let it go until next week now. You have no idea
how much it helps to make the time pass quickly and that is the important
thing. I know that every day means that we are one day nearer to the time when
we can see each other again. Won’t that be a wonderful time?
When I saw
I am so
thrilled that you have gotten some more rugs. Do send them as soon as you feel
well enough to deal with fixing them up. I am afraid something will happen to
them and it would just about break my heart.
Sam says
the rain has stopped and he wants me to come and help him to sail boats so I
guess I will have to go. We love you very, very much and there just aren’t any
words to tell you how much we miss you. I hope you are feeling all right by the
time you get this letter.
All my love,
