Dearest Hal,
I have just finished writing to “Nana” and sending her a check. Sara has gone over to see her. Peggy saw Sara in town and she said she was going to leave Harry Nash with Mrs. Calhoun and go over and spend several days. I’m glad she can do that for I imagine “Nana” is lonely especially now that we can’t get enough gas to go over there very often.
Today was one of those especially cold windy days we have in March. This morning we had snow but by noon it had stopped and now I think it is too cold to snow. How I wish it would turn war. I believe maybe spring would help every one’s morale here. Maybe warm weather doesn’t sound so good to you. I guess you have too mush of it where you are.
Anyway this was good day to hug the fire and look through the seed catalogues and plan what we’re going to grow. I already have my mind full of all sorts of lovely flowers I will grow but doubt if I’ll have time to do it. Vegetables will come first this year. Everyone will do well to have a garden. I’ll get some good practice so we can make a good one when we get our house.
All my love,
