Dearest Hal,

Today I had a nice long letter from you telling all about your experiences when you went duck hunting. I know you must have enjoyed it thoroughly in spite of your impromptu bath. I wish you had more time off for such things. I’m afraid you have very little time to relax from your letters.

I am thrilled over the things you said you were sending. I have been thrilled with all the things you have sent and the idea of more makes me feel like a little girl on Christmas Eve. It takes such a long time for things to come.

Honey, the pictures are ready to send as soon as you can send us a permit. Also please tell me in what condition the things I’ve mailed you arrived. I want to know how I should pack these photos to reach you in good condition. I do hope they will help you to feel closer to us even though we are so far apart.

All my love,
