Monday
night
My dearest Hal,
I meant to
write you yesterday as I do almost every Sunday, but yesterday I didn’t feel
very well. I’ll try to make up for it tonight.
This has been a rainy day so we couldn’t work out doors. I have plenty to do any way. I have been putting away winter clothes and
unpacking summer things. Do you think
you will be able to wear the suits you left here when you come home? I was wondering
what to do with them. I had them cleaned and stored in garment bags. Bob said
he could wear a pair of suntan pants you left here so I gave them to him. I
hope you don’t mind.
We were so
pleased to get the letters with pictures enclosed, also one that told your trip
and visits to the mosques. It had been a good while since you sent us any
pictures and we were delighted to have them. I don’t believe you have been
playing tennis very long from the looks of the pictures. How much do you
weight? Sam weighs 50 lbs and I weigh about 130 I guess. I haven’t weighed for some time.
I do hope
you are not going to have a terrible bad time with prickly heat this summer. I
tried to find out some thing to send you but every one I asked said the only
thing that helped was to bathe and change clothes several times a day if
possible. Dr. G. said iodex wouldn’t help
particularly but I will send some if you wish.
Is there any kind of powder that would help? Write me if there is any
thing I can send you and if it weighs more than 8 oz. I guess you have to send
a permit.
You never
had said what you wanted me to do about “Nana’s” money. Shall I send it or not?
Honey, I do
hope the rug you sent will arrive safely but I’m not too hopeful. The three
packages you said I should have gotten have all failed to arrive so far. Every day I hope maybe one of them will show
up. It’s such a thrill to get things from over there. The rug you sent me is
the loveliest thing. I like it better all the time. Please tell me is the one
you have just similar to this one I have? Could you possibly get several more
rugs of this type, smaller ones, or another one this size? We are going to need
several like this one for our living room. Please try to get some more. We’ll
probably never have another wonderful chance to buy something so handsome at
such a price. You have excellent taste when it comes to picking rugs if this
one is a sample.
I haven’t
heard from Billy for about six weeks but I think “Nana” heard about two weeks
ago and maybe since. I can’t get over to see her and I haven’t had a letter for
several weeks.
I suppose
now that the N.A. campaign is over, shipping will be routed through the
Honey,
don’t worry about us. We will get along o.k. Just take good care of yourself.
You know nothing else is so important as knowing you
are safe and well.
All
my love,
