CAPT_HARRY M. Wilson
Q.M.C.
A.P.O. 886 of Postmaster
Dearest Hal- I read your letter yesterday written May 26th
and Eliz sent me one of May 10th I read one from Billy today- he
said he had gotten two from you but they were rather old- he says his chances
of seeing you are less than they were. He has changed his location etc., and
has not had any mail for a month. His address now is Co A 7th Bn- Apo 761- He says he has seen some very beautiful
country, almost surpassing Virginia if that were possible. The difference is
that the hills are rocky crags with lots of springs and waterfalls but the
valleys are very green and fertile.
I hadn’t
heard from you for so long I was wondering if your address had changed. Summer
has hit this porch now and we are sweltering at 95° the last few days. Last
night was very pleasant but the night before I had to move my fan a good part
of the night and I kept thinking of you and of how much warmer you probably
were. Eliz wrote me that Ruth McClung had lost her husband May 12th.
He had angina. Florence Huse has sold her house and
gotten some rooms with her friend Nuss Bessie gold. I
would love to be able to leave here but as long as I keep having “flare ups”
I’m afraid to. I really am better though and am hoping. That was an interesting
letter you wrote so, you don’t write them often. I guess you are kept busy.
Much
love to you.
