Dearest Hal,

Something nice has happened to me today, first a nice long letter from you and then a card from Tish, saying that she and Frank are back in Waynesboro. I had to go to Waynesboro to get my gas ration book renewed so I stopped by to see them for a few minutes. They are both the same dear old friends. I wish you could have been there. I wanted to stay and talk and talk but couldn’t do it this time. I did try to answer their questions about you and they wanted to know everything.  Of course there wasn’t so much I could tell them but they sent you love and said they hoped you would soon be coming home.

The news of Nana is just about the same. I hope I can get in there before very long. I may go tomorrow.

Darling, we miss you terribly. Aren’t they ever going to send you home. I bought a bond with your $750.

                                                                                    All my love,
