My dearest Hal,
I wrote you
a letter Tuesday to tell you how thrilled we all were over your promotion. That
certainly made a wonderful Christmas present for me too. I think you were very
patient about waiting and I know it must have been awfully tiresome to have so
many changes and so much bother. I guess maybe you learn to wait for lots of
things in the country you are in now. I didn’t believe you would get a
promotion while you were overseas and I am delighted it finally came through.
We are all
feeling better. Mother and Daddy are still coughing some and neither one of
them has been out of the house yet. I am firing the furnace and doing the
chores and teaching too. At least I taught yesterday for the first day. I get
along fine however and I think it will only be for a few days. I will come home
for good if and when they can find a teacher but it seems to be just about
impossible to get any help.
I hope you
are writing me a great many letters. I have gotten some nice long ones lately.
All
my love,
Page.
