Hal, dearest,
By this time you will be back from your trip I guess and hard at work making up for lost time. I hope you will take time out to write to me as often as you can. I am in a fever of impatience for some more news about your homecoming. I can hardly believe it is true. I have hoped and waited and prayed so long for this to happen.
I am having trouble with my throat again. About every ten days it gets sore and I feel sick all over for a day or two, then it gradually wears off and I feel all right again. This has been going on for over two months now and I’m getting very tired of it.
The yard is full of tree limbs and the tops of two locust trees. I don’t know when we’ll ever get them moved because all the men are so busy with the harvest and no one can get half enough help to do anything these days.
I’ll hate for anyone to see my garden this summer because it is so full of weeds. I know it worries Daddy not to have things in better shape around the place, but I’m doing all I can. Thank goodness this worrisome Bible School is almost over. Then I hope I can really get some things done around here. Sam has really gotten a lot out of Bible School, so for his sake it has been worth the work.
We had a letter from Bob today dated the 7th and he is still in England so we are thankful. We also heard from Buck H. We hadn’t heard anything from Buck for a long time. He is in North Africa in the ground crew of the Air Force. He asked where you were. Said he was sure you would be home from India before this.
I am praying all the time that very soon you will be starting home.
All my love,
Page.
