My Darling Sweetheart,
Today honey the whole world is at peace again, the world is at peace for the first time since 1934 when the Japanese started the fight with the Chinese. This is a great day in our young life Pheety, It’s a day that we can thank God that we still have each other and with us that is everything. We are very fortunate Darling that God has spared me in this war. When you stop and think of the lonely widows and sweethearts who are left alone from this war, I hope you realize just how lucky you are to be as fortunate as you are. So fortunate that you won’t just be looking at pictures I send you, but you will have me in yours arms, never to be left alone again. It’s going to be so much like getting married all over again that I’m going to you on a honeymoon when I get home. Somewhere –

in a couple of days just the exact day we leave. We have learned that the 1st MRS (Military Railway Service) leaves first and the 2nd MRS goes later. I am by the way fortunate enough to be in the 1st MRS. It’s the oldest Railway Division over here. – Well I’m hoping by now that you’re on your way home so you can get my blue suit all dry cleaned and pressed for me to wear. I want you to get my good clothes ready Darling as I just can’t wait ‘til I jump out of these uniforms. Pheety if you can find them I wish you’d buy me some under wear. I’d like to have 3 pair of undershirts and drawers, white ones. The V-shape kind around the legs that fit tight like some of you pants. Size 30 trunks and size 32 undershirts. If you’re ever lucky enough to find a loud pair of pajamas I wish you get one. Maybe you could find a pair with roses on it. Wouldn’t that be something? I know my Pheety will have my things ready –

– before I get home cause I know she’ll be anxious for that honeymoon. Won’t you honey?
How is my
sweetheart anyway, I hope you’ve been feeling good and not working too hard.
Honey do you still have that same old trouble with your periods. I’m always
worrying about you Darling! I don’t think you should even be working when you
fall asleep in you clothes and never wake up ‘til morning. It proves you’re not
strong enough to do whatever work you’re doing. I don’t care how much weight
you’ve gained, you’ve still no business working like you have been. But
I don’t have to worry very long cause I know when you get that letter you’ve
been waiting for that you’ll do what your Pheety
wants you to do. When you leave

If you care for me so much as you say you’ll get away from it all. And if you care for me that much then naturally you’ll want me when I come home and to always have me. You know this is the only thing to do. I know you well Darling cause I happen to know you really do care for me as I care for you and that is from the very depths of our hearts. Don’t forget to lay out those pajamas Pheety cause I have a whole year’s lovin saved up for you. Have you got that much saved up for me honey? Please answer and make me the happiest and proudest soldier in the world! “I’ll be seeing you” (spend your nickels on that one) in September (next month too) Darling and until then I remain your very anxious but true as ever Pheety.
All my love and kisses to the one I’ll always love with all my heart,
Your Dumpling

P.D. I wish I could really tell you just how much I love you but Darling when I get a hold of you next month you’ll have no doubt.
