My Dearest Wife,
I don’t
know what to say Pheety, your letters are coming so fast it’s taking my
breath. I got four more letters
from you today and my heart’s just jumping up and down. My, the things those letters do to
me. It must be love all over again. Your letter of April 3rd
was the best one darling, it thrilled me so much. I’m so happy you like my letter but I’ll be
happier when I get the one you wrote the night after I told you I still love
you.
Yes darling won’t it be fun making our home together, just you and I together. Sure we’ll make it, we’ve got to make it because we love each other and gosh do we need each other. That’s what’s been wrong all this time, we needed each other.
And one thing, I don’t want any details about anything when I get home. So if you have any letters or pictures that don’t concern us then you better destroy them. You know I might give you a shake-down like they do in the army. Ha.
Could you ever imagine me looking
at all this the way I do? It took me
quite a while to make up my mind to it but when I still love you that’s the
only way to do it: forget it.
Where do you think we’re going
about a week after I get home? We’re
going to a little city in
You’re going to get a little
surprise when you see me get off that train.
It’s a hint you won’t see a soldier if I can find a nice gray suit in
Will close now and go to bed and
dream of you darling. Oh if only I had
you here in bed with me but oh baby wait til I do.
All my love and kisses sweetheart,
Your Pheety
X XXXX XXX!
I LOVE YOU DEAREST.
