My dearest Paul,
Your Sat.,
Sun., and Mon. letters came this morning and I was so happy to have then, dear.
I went down
to Vogler’s Jewelry today and got you a watch hand.
They said they would mail it for me this afternoon so I hope you will get it
this week. I believe, dear, it will be alright.
I wrote
your mother another note Saturday, and asked her for their list. I appreciated yours, dear, but aren’t you
planning to send announcements to Abbie, Allen, Jr.,
Allen and Marianna. Charles Coperhaver, Lawrence and
Ida, Neo. T. Wofford, and Sunny E.?
Had my
picture taken at Noodnick’s this afternoon. He made me take off every bit of my make up
and had me put cream on my face for the picture. Don’t know how they will turn out, but hope
better than the ones at the Amelia, though.
I think,
dear, it will be awfully nice to have our initials and the date of our wedding
engraved on my ring. I’m so happy, and
as I told your mother I can hardly realize that it is all so real and that all
of this happiness actually belongs to me.
I know Doc
will appreciate your asking him to be an usher, dear, and I do think it is the
nice thing to do. As you say, though, he
probably won’t come so I think your idea about having Walter and
I don’t
want to ask Moody and Julian to our wedding, dear. The chapel is small and there are so many
others that I’d rather have so let’s not have them,
dear.
Listen,
honey, don’t worry about what to give me for Christmas for all I want, dear, is
you.
You did say
over the phone that it is USMCR, didn’t you, dear? I just want to make sure that I understood
correctly. Dear, I’m so happy and
excited and it will be sweet music to my ears too when I hear the wedding march
on Dec. 17th. I’m just living
for that day, and I can hardly wait for it to get here.
Mother and
I are going down to see Dr.
I miss you
terribly, darling. All my thoughts are
of you, and I love you dearly.
Lucille
