My dearest Paul,
It is
really snowing up a storm. I’ve been uptown since nine am; met Mary Ana for
lunch and am now down here in her little office waiting on her. She finishes up
early today as they’re closing up for Christmas. I just called home and Mother
told me that I have two letters from you, darling. Can hardly wait to go home
and read them.
I tried to
get you last night at 10:05 and I heard the man tell operator that he could not
ring your barracks after ten. When did that go into effect, dear? I’m so
anxious to talk with you, darling. I’m anxious to know if the announcements are
alright and also want to know what you think about the Train reservations. In
eleven more days I’ll be completely happy and I can hardly wait for the 27th
the get here!
I had a
“special” from Mrs. Randolph this morning and she said the three of them would
be here on the 8 Am., train Sun. Am. I reserved a room for them at the hotel
this am. It was such a nice letter and she tells me you’re going to be with
them this wk. end. Think that’s fine, darling, and you can tell them that I
think the silver vase is perfectly beautiful. It’s really lovely and I can
hardly wait for you to see the presents, dear.
Also had a
note from ____ Kraus yesterday and she is coming to
our wedding and reception. She said she appreciates so much your
wanting Barney to be in our wedding and she knew he’d hate to miss it.
Mary A. can
leave in just a little while so I’m going up to get some gifts for your ushers,
darling. Also our ____ to get the place cards for the breakfast. I’m so happy
and thrilled, darling, and I’m just living for the 27th at 5:30!
You’re my
every thought, darling, and you know that I love you dearly.
Lucille
P.S. Excuse paper and pencil, but this is all “Tillie” will
let me have.
I
love you darling-
