Dear Mom & Pop –
A few lines to let you know I am well and O.K. but have
taken more cold since I got back up here.
[I] am going to the Dentist tomorrow; don’t know what they will do. But
I think if they pull my teeth I will just let them go, for sooner or later they
will have to be pulled anyway and in here it won’t cost me anything.
I went to see the Chaplin this morning he said he would see
what there could be done about getting out and would let me know in a few days.
And if you all want to, you can get another petition signed and that would
help. Like the last one was, would have to be signed by a Notary Public, and
maybe a Doctor. If you get a doctor to sign it try to get Dr. McNalley.
I am going up [to] try to get an allotment st
[I] am sending $25 to pay on that note at the bank, will
send the rest next month and the $10 I owe you Pop. You talk about the blues; I sure have had
them since I got back. I thought for a while I didn’t want a Discharge, but I
will take one now for if they keep going over yonder like they are now, [it]
won’t be long until this thing will be over anyway, that is what we hope
anyway.
Mom, if you haven’t already sent my little green address
book please drop it in the next letter for there is a girls address in there
that I want to write to. Well I have got
to go to the P.O. and then to see about that allotment so I will close for this
time hoping every one is well and to hear from all soon.
Love,
Marlin
Tell Aunt Done hello.
