Dearest Mom and all,
After so long a time will drop a few lines to let you all know I am still alive and feeling pretty well. Sure have some head cold and am having some teeth pulled Friday, true that I got knocked out or broke off in a little scrap I had the other night, am going to try and have them all pulled if they will do it.
I took my first Glider ride not that I really wanted to. It was either ride today and draw $90 back pay or waiting until the outfit said ride, and then not draw the money back. Riding a Glider isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I really liked the ride we were up for about 10 or 15 minutes.
Sure was surprised to hear that Bert had gone to preaching, I just hope he goes into it for the good of it and not for something else. I don’t doubt that he can make a good one for he knows the Bible pretty good, if he is satisfied and it makes Lucy happy then that is about all that counts, and what good he can do for others.
Mom, I told you in one of my letters that if you wanted to send anything for Christmas to send some money, but there isn’t any use sending it now for I wont need it after we draw this extra money. If you all want to send anything you can send some of those big blue Hankies or something like that for I can’t think of a thing I need that you all can buy.
Guess Allie Mae is home by now got a letter from her the other day she said she had her ticket bought, hope she is back by now anyway.
Well it is getting so dark and cloudy I can barley see so I will close with love to all.
Love, Marlin
