Dearest Dot,
It has been
ages since I have received a letter from you and I was wondering what had
happened. Did you get angry when I didn’t write for such a long time? Truly I
am very sorry and I don’t blame you one bit. Please forgive me this time and
I’ll try and not do it again. I’ll at least write once a week and sometimes
more often.
By the time
you receive this letter you will probably have received the letter Irv wrote to
you. Irv and I rode in the same truck coming up here so I won’t explain any
details as he has already done so. I think he wrote a long letter to you and
your Mathew concerning our move and almost everything else.
We have
been here since Saturday and it has rained every day and almost constantly
since then. It is really miserable here. We are located right on the shore of
the
I thought
surely that we would be back in the States by the end of this month or the
middle of August at the very latest but now it looks like at least two years
for Irv and I over here. There are so many things I
wanted to talk to you about and a lot of pleasant evening to be spent together
but I guess that is almost out now. Perhaps by this time you have found someone
to go with and really like. If that is so and you don’t care about writing
please write at least one more letter and tell me about it. I have enjoyed your
letters very much and will be happy when I start receiving them again.
Have you
heard from your brother yet? Irv was really worried and no doubt all of you
are. Irv is doing everything possible to try and find him. If I could be of any
assistance to Irv I’ll do everything I can but I think he is trying everything
now. I only hope that your brother is well and happy. I’ll keep my fingers
crossed constantly.
Darling I
must close for now so I hope to hear from you very soon and often.
All
my love and kisses
Cliff
