Dear Ray,

Well, it took me quite some time to write to you didn’t it? And you must know why, I don’t know where you soldier guys get to assume so much when a girl gets a little bit friendly. I think it’s rotten. I also thought now that the war is over service men were getting to act at least a little bit all there in the brain, but I see they haven’t changed at all. I don’t know where you got the idea I was the kind of character you made out in the letter. Listen sonny boy, if I was that kind of girl I wouldn’t have to send Washington for it, the kind of thing you offer I could get every hour of the day around here. In fact I have a fight everyday with some kind of man about that, the average man seems to think that’s all I’m made for, to kick around, that’s why I said I wanted to get married after a short engagement because most men can’t stand to go out with me without getting fresh. I can’t help it if they desire me and they want to make out that I want them the same way. Well, I hope you will have the decency to send my pictures back, as I want them back now.
